Humans and pets - her little Miracle Chicken in particular - are not the only memorializing Linda has done in her artistic career. Although her currently completed 40-year memorialization project was a lengthy labor of love even for her.
"I love to draw! I do drawings and paintings both full-size and miniature. And along those lines, I have several hand-made drawings and paintings in 1:12 scale that are also matted and framed by me. The frames are beautiful and very special to me - I ate cherries from the little tree they are made from.
"My neighbor cut it down and broke my heart so I took the wood home. Then I built a jig to mill down little boards on my table saw so the wood grain, knots and defects are in perfect 1:12 scale. I have a set of beautiful dollhouse scale router bits I used to route and rabbet the strips, then miter them. Then I cut scale mats. The drawings and paintings were made in the early 80's, the tree was cut and milled in the 90's and the frames were made now. One drawing of a polar bear was made from a photo I took at the Cleveland zoo in 1977. So technically this art project has spanned four decades! "
