In addition to miniature displays, Japan also offers classes in miniature food making.
"I am lucky to have had classes with a very experienced dollhouse miniaturist who had her formal training in Japan. I am not sure whether this counts as formal training for me, but for sure it's a very good experience to be with such a talented artist," said Chan.
She also finds herself lucky to be blessed with family members who appreciate and encourage her art.
"My family gives me a lot of support and they really love my art. When they see something that can be improved, they will always let me know and give me lots of valuable opinions. They all have some of my products on display at their homes.
"My fiancé, in addition, has been very supportive. He noticed my former workshop had gone out of control with not enough space so he offered to move me into the bigger room. He was even nice enough to pack and move for me!"
It wasn't a lengthy move, going from one room in her house to the next, but it did involve a lot of carrying.
