"The hardest part is creating items that are totally unfamiliar to me or making things out of my own imagination. For example, I have never seen some types of seafood in my life, yet I will be making miniature sushi dishes out of that variety of seafood.
"It's really hard when I have never seen the real thing in life or even the special cultural foods I don't see often so I can only rely on researching different pictures to get a feel of the items. I always try to make my miniature as much like the real item as possible, therefore, when I have never seen something before it's especially hard to make."
She frequently has cooking shows airing on the television in her workroom while she creates miniatures for inspiration, but finds her muse wears many faces.
"Watching the shows gives me a lot of inspiration on how to make the actual product. My mom has also given me a lot of inspiration ever since I was a little kid. I always considered her an artist and she is really good at arts and crafts.
"I find much of my inspiration from my day-to-day life. When I shop, I always try to find new things, travelling is also another very good way to give me new ideas in my projects. I love travelling to Japan as they have many, many displays of miniature food that I find really inspiring."
