Her fascination with the world of miniatures began early in life with that classic 1:6 scale icon, Barbie®.
"I was around four or five years old and had my first Barbie® dollhouse with only one kitchen, one living room, and one bedroom. That was when I started to dream about having an even bigger dollhouse, or should I say dollhouse mansion? I haven't stopped dreaming about it ever since," she said.
These days, Barbie® has been supplanted by Blythe© in her heart, but Chan also works in the smaller 1:12 scale to create mini foods. Her favourite craft material for mini food is Japanese air dry clay.
"It's high quality, does not require baking and works great with all the items that I make."
Quality and realism in her works are deeply important to Chan.
