So while her architectural career might have started with shoeboxes and mud and progressed to kits, it definitely didn't take her long to branch out. Realism became a happy obsession as she started adding bits here and there such as realistic-looking power meters.
And now, even though spring is her favourite season, she has embraced the imaginative Haunted and Spooky genre for Halloween with surrealistic creations like the Tudor Pumpkin.
"I love making spooky minis and spooky dolls, but this was my first spooky house creation. I am a big Halloween fan and I enjoyed the time spent building my project to participate in the contest. Best of all, I won! I was so surprised and excited to find I won first place."
Her winning entry for the CDHM Halloween contest was a special creative challenge in many ways, none the least being scale.
"I prefer one inch scale because the size of the houses allow more room for modifications and additions such as electrical outlets and lighting. The architectural details are also easier to appreciate.
"But I primarily enjoy working with 1/4 scale because I can build the furniture using a combination of materials such as wood, polymer clay, plastic, fabric, jewelry, beads and found objects. And I really like the fact that a 1/4 scale house doesn't take me too much time to finish."
