His preferred medium was working with wood. He could spot great "bones" of furniture that was unloved or had been discarded by others and bring those pieces back to their full glory.
Since he was a tool and die maker by day, following plans or designing his own patterns came very easy to him as well. Rocking horses, trains, push toys, step stools, rolling pins and shelves were just a handful of the treasures that came out of his shop.
His humorous side came out when he created these miniature bird houses and gifted them as "mosquito houses."
