Artists:

Bee-Inspirational Miniatures is three talents, Bob, Rose and Syd.

Where do you live?

Sussex and Cornwall, England UK

What do you make?

Scale Blown Glass items -- such as decanters, glasses, bowls, vases and many other items. We also create 1/12 scale bedding. Another area we have is a picture repair and miniaturizing service and hand made picture frames.

What sizes do you specialize in?

Both 1/12 & 1/24 Scales

Do you have a website?

Yes, www.bee-inspirational.co.uk. Plus our CDHM Gallery.

When did you first become interested in miniatures?

Bob and Rose 2-3 years ago. We met Syd when we were on holiday. Syd has been working with glass miniatures since around 1989.

Where do you find inspiration?

We look on the internet and antique shops for styles and design ideas. A pretty piece of fabric, a scrap of ribbon, and full scale interior design magazines are also great inspriation.

Where do you sell your products?

Dolls House Fairs, our website, auction sites and other related markets.

What is the price range for your products?

From as little as £1.10 up.

What does your family think of your art?

They are impressed especially by Syd's talents.

Do you belong to any groups or clubs?

CDHM

Do you run workshops? If so, please tell us about them.

None

What shows do you attend (if any)?

As many as possible throughout the year. We attend the Excel show in London as well as Alexandra Palace and this year Lords Cricket Ground as well as numerous shows in the home counties.

Have you made any special items?

No

What do you love most about miniatures?

You can create a history of your own.

Do you have any formal training in your miniature field?

Syd has been blowing glass for over 55 years. Rose and Bob have no formal training other than their love of craft.

What tool could you not live without?

Syd says it is his blow torch. Without it he can't blow glass.
Rose says it's her sewing machine;
and Bob his wood turning lathe.

What's the biggest difficulty involved with working in miniature?

With the glass, the items are so small it is difficult to see them in the flame when working. When turning in wood, it can be difficult working with really thin wood.

What's next for you and your creations?

There's always something new and we are always open to suggestions, if people want something unique or different.

What's your favorite season and why?

Spring - new life all around!

Favorite guilty pleasure?

Sorry we can't think of any!

Biggest pet peeve?

Bad weather and traffic jams.

If you could go back in time, in which time period would you live?

The 20th century is as good as it gets.

What's in your CD player right now?

Classics and Annie Lennox.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Another day full of possibilities!
