"I think the hardest part of what I do is sending the e-mail of the finished piece of furniture to my client. I like what I've made, I've done my best, then I wait for the return e-mail."

"Fortunately, I have been lucky and my clients have liked what I have sent them!" CDHM artisan Kris Compas creates handmade dolls house scale furniture

Running a household and a business is no small feat, but Kris is able to manage it all. 'All' includes her family and menagerie.

"Sometimes it gets a little busy around here in the summer," she admits.

"Especially when I am trying to make furniture and put up tomatoes at the same time!"

It gets even busier when Kris has to undo the mischief created by a rascally rabbit, her pet Ginger.
