Tutorial with Linda Cummings
Step 9
This piece is not going to be carved and you will need to cover the carcass now!
When you are happy with the shape, put the carcass to one side. Next, are the legs and wings.
Step 10
Take a small piece of your translucent/white mixture and roll out a thin log, approximately 1mm (0.03") wide.
Step 11
Cut 2 pieces of this log approximately 4mm (approximately 1/6") in length. Then roll these to point at one end. Put to one side.
Step 12
Roll out a log 5mm (approximately 1/5") in width with your flesh mixture. Then cut two pieces from this log, approximately 4mm (approximately 1/6") wide, then roll these pieces into balls for the chicken legs.
Step 13
Roll these balls into a tear drop shape. Take your pin and carefully work a hole into the narrow end, as shown.
Step 14
With your pin, pick up the small bone pieces you made earlier with the translucent/white mixture; then gently push them into the holes on the legs. Gently roll the leg to maintain the shape.
Put these to one side while you make the wings.
