And miniature American tables wouldn't be the same without a golden roasted bird, either. Amanda Speakman presents a succulently roast turkey with trimmings that would grace any table, not just Thanksgiving. And just to help the miniature household with the preparations for the family gathering Amanda also gives us a vegetable preparation board.
Another talented miniaturist, Ann Fisher, also gives us her mini version of a roast turkey, this time on a bed of greenery and garnished with slices of orange.
Instead of, or even as well as, the traditional Thanksgiving roast turkey why not try a deliciously sticky, roast and honey-glazed ham. Ann Fisher makes a 12th scale ham that literally makes me salivate to look at it!
Traditional accompaniments to this Thanksgiving feast are sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. It is, however, unlikely that the first Thanksgiving dinner all those centuries ago actually involved mashed potatoes as potatoes were still considered "poisonous" at that time.
