I love swaps.
I love dreaming up what to make, I love the challenge, I love the anticipation and of coarse I love getting the items in the mail. It's so much fun to see what a brilliant artist will do. One of the nicest things about a swap is it can help you furnish a house or make a room box.
I first heard about swaps through my N.A.M.E. club. I really wanted to participate but it was so confusing to me so I didn't when I saw the wonderful items everyone received I wanted to participate even more but was scared I'd mess up. Then Mary EJ here in the CDHM Forum took me by the hand and helped me through my first swap.
After that I was addicted, but the club swaps were only about twice a year and I wanted to do more. As a member of CDHM I got so excited when I saw the swap board! It was a dream come true, but no one had swapped for a while. Once again I asked Mary if she would hold my hand if I hosted a swap and, lucky for me she likes swaps as much as I do so she agreed. What I didn't find out until the end of the swap was that the thread is supposed to be for one on one swaps only!
N.A.M.E. swaps are huge, with about 100 participants making 21 items each, but one person wins every item made. I decided my CDHM swap would be smaller and everyone would get something.
