CDHM artisan Natalie Brooks creating under the business name of Casbah Miniatures creates dollhouse miniature beds in 1:12 scale

It's all about the Big People Pieces.

Really.

Miniature artist Natalie Brooks, owner/designer of Casbah Miniature Creations, has discovered that trial and error, mixed with a careful study of "big people pieces," has helped her to create exquisite miniature works of art.

"I'm a total 'closet miniaturist.' I'm always slightly embarrassed when someone asks what I do. I mean, really, at my age I'm still playing with toys? But when I look at that from another perspective... You bet! Who could ask for a better job?" said Brooks.

Her 1/12 scale furniture creations, primarily beds, are leading her in new directions. Her latest endeavor is designing and hand-building her own line of Art Deco and Art Nouveau furniture designs from the 1920s and '30s.
