Poly-tung #80. I will apply four coats, sanding lightly between coats.
Next, while that is drying, I am going to make a nice walnut frame for the board.
I have a wonderful set of dollhouse scale router bits. The photo shows the bit I've chosen chucked into my router, which is mounted in a homemade router table. I've routed a profile on my walnut and I'll go back to the table saw to rip it. I've adjusted the bearing jig to the frame size I want and made a few strips. The inset shows the routed strips.
At this point I will put the Red Devil© finish on my strips. After all the coats are dry, the frame needs to be mitred, so I set my table on my little Dremel© disc/belt sander to 45 degrees and mitre the edges.
It's finished. Now the mini people can play chess with Mini Dad!
