Once cured, peel it away and you now have an incredible texture stamp to press into your clay. I like to take small blobs, form them around the end of a skinny dowel til it looks much like an ear swab, then press it onto the texture I want to copy and allow it to cure with the stick firmly in place. Once this cures I now have a small texture tool mounted on its own handle - these are great for making skin textures on your sculptures.
This next type of tool is a little more in-depth but produces a truly unique tool for polymer clay artists. How many of you have used those rubber-ended tools that are mounted on a paint brush-like handle? They are pretty expensive from most suppliers (for the better ones anyway) and not always in the best choices of shapes. Well, how about making your own?
