In a single-part mold I made of one of my miniature dragon sculptures you can see three types of castings I made from the mold: one by pressing Super Sculpey© into the mold and carefully pulling it back out; another made by pressing in artist grade epoxy putty into the mold and allowing it to cure; and the third by pouring in some resin plastic into the mold and allowed to cure to hard before removing.
These molds can be huge time- savers when you need multiple parts that are fast and easy. Many times when creating a miniature or mini scene we need repetitions of small parts to make something, like for instance mini Easter eggs for a springtime holiday scene. Sculpt one egg, make a mold with mold putty and in less than an hour you are ready to pour some resin to make up as many hard replicas as needed to complete your Easter scene.
Need a lot of flowers to add to that scene? Sculpt one flower head and make a mold to cast as many flowers as you need. Heck, for that matter sculpt three or four different flower heads and make one mold with all the
