"I had just started getting into eBay© and buying craft patterns. I thought that crocheting dollhouse afghans was a win-win situation. They were small enough that they could be shipped easily, I could crochet patterns that I had wanted to do but didn't want to store in the closet, and the money I made could pay for the patterns I was buying."
Although Michelle can translate some full-sized patterns into miniature afghans she doesn't rely only on what has been done before, but what can be accomplished in the future.
"I've come up with a few original granny squares and patterns for my afghans. I follow patterns mostly, so I'm proud of the few originals that I have created on my own. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to come up with more of my own patterns."
She is also lucky enough to be able to carry her "workshop" with her wherever she goes in a denim bag that contains the threads, scissors, hooks and needle she needs to complete each piece.
