IGMA Artisan Diane Paone grew up with Dr. Suess, and her favorite books were "Green Eggs and Ham" and "Horton Hears a Who." She also adored the Star-bellied Sneeches.
Although not being directly influenced by his work in her art, she could really relate to his whimsical style. She admired his writing style because it was so different compared to all the other children's books she knew of at the time. She admits she was probably more influenced by the moral messages in his stories about tolerance, getting along with others and doing the right thing.
Another celebration held this month is of course Mardi Gras! Thanks to Diane, now even your 1/24 scale dolls can celebrate the holiday with their own tiny, beautiful masks. She began making the masks out of her love of sparkly things like glitter, beads and crystals.
