To begin creating a satisfying sculpture that will last and that you can show off I will suggest buying one thing and one thing only: a box of polymer clay.

Yup that's it.

With just a box of clay most people have everything they need to create at their kitchen table. I mean let's face it, with sculpting I may be picking an easy subject because honestly with just your hands alone you could create something. But I am sure most of you want to add details, or textures, or some smooth flat surfaces and using a tool to do that is a lot easier.
