HELPFUL MINIATURE TIPS | TUTORIALS | |||
Helpful hint for April is grain
Many miniaturists who print their own wallpaper sometimes have less than acceptable results when papering inside or outside wall corners. One reason may be that they're working against the grain. All paper has a "grain," which is described as being "long" or "short". To check your paper, simply fold a sheet in half so that the 8.5-inch edges line up. If the fold in the middle is not sharp then your fold is against the grain. Just make sure you print your image so the grain and the orientation of your design are the same. This trick also comes in handy when making small boxes or packages. |
