As if this wasn't enough talent under one roof, Debbe's husband also gets in on the fun.
"My husband has helped me with landscaping miniatures. He is a model railroad enthusiast, so he understands the fascination of little items."
Whenever a miniaturist has attained a certain amount of realism in their art, someone, somewhere, mistakes their creation for a full-scale work of art and Debbe is no exception.
"I sold a lovely 1/12 scale pond, complete with landscaping and fish on Ebay. The winner called me a few days after the auction wanting to know when I would be coming to her house to install her pond, then proceeded to tell me the
types of flowers and fish she wanted in the pond! She also asked if I could add a small waterfall. It took a while to convince her that the pond she had won was a dollhouse miniature, not a life-sized one!"
What started out as a necessity has become Debbe's passion, and although it seems like she has made just about everything you can think of, there still is, as there should be, yet one more idea lurking in her creative mind just waiting to be brought to life.
"I've been wanting to make a bridal cake shop for a while now, something very elegant with frothy wedding cakes, etc. Maybe one day soon..."
Although Debbe does not presently have a web site, her work is sold in her own CDHM Gallery under her full name, Debbe Mize, and on Ebay.
