It's hard to believe that its almost 3-years since www.cdhm.org opened its virtual doors, but next month will in fact be our 3rd anniversary.
When we began, it was with the dream that doll and miniature artisans would have an economical home of their own to market their wares for one stop shopping. This magical site now features galleries filled with any type of miniature imaginable, forums where artists and collectors alike can get together and talk about their miniature passions and free how-to tutorials on all different types of miniature crafting.
The CDHM site has become a nurturing environment for both amateurs and professionals to learn and play. Throughout its three years, the site has grown from a small group of dedicated artists to a global smorgasbord of talent. From that early concept of forum and gallery, blogs and an on-line newsletter featuring professional writers has emerged. Particularly with these new features, CDHM's goal of connecting the people who create, collect, and sell dollhouse scale miniatures has exceeded all expectations.
CDHM members have achieved unique opportunities courtesy of their favorite miniatures website from publications in Miniaturas, American Miniaturist, Dolls House World, and Dollhouse Miniatures. Last November an even more spectacular opportunity arose when members were featured on American homemaking maven Martha Stewart's TV show "Martha Stewart Living", which is broadcast around the world. CDHM members and representatives from Greenleaf Dollhouses and Ashdown Publications were all on hand to introduce Martha and her audience to the amazing world of miniatures.
After three years of growth, the site is not resting on its laurels. Topping the list of new and exciting plans is CDHM Live, a new opportunity for doll and miniature instructor artisans to present both free and paid tutorial instructions to the miniature world in a virtual online environment. CDHM continues to work on features new and innovative to the miniature community.
Thank you to all the artisans, collectors, writers, bloggers, readers, and advertisers who have contributed, over the years. All of you keep this site exciting, fun, friendly and thriving in the miniature community.
