Spain is a country rich in tradition, political intrigue and culture. Located at the very southern tip of Europe, this country has been influenced not only by other countries on its continent, but also by the Moors of Africa. Spain's colonization of many different areas of the "New World" led to most of South America speaking their language, and enjoying similar customs.
It was from the exploring nature of the Spanish that we remember the important figures from this region including the explorer Hernán Cortéz and Christopher Columbus. Great artists come from Spanish origins as well, Francisco Goya, portrait painter, 17th century Spanish artist Diego Velazquez was court painter to the King of Spain, and more currently, Pablo Picasso, just to name a few.
Have you ever wanted to see the Statue of Liberty on a needle? Or a Guernica painting on a tiny seed?
If so, you are in luck, here in Spain we have just such treasures.
It is difficult to find precisely what the first miniature representation was in Spain. We have a large tradition of nativity scenes in a large variety of sizes, including beautiful landscapes with figures, sometimes made by hand with real sand, water, etc.
