CDHM the miniature way imag, found objects to make a lamp post for dollhouse miniatures Take the liquid dish soap top and separate into two pieces. (I painted everything I needed to before assembling.) Build from the bottom up and secure with a trusty glue gun:

 1. Start with the lower portion of the liquid dish soap for the base. CDHM the miniature way imag, found objects to make a lamp post for dollhouse miniatures
 2. Add a pen barrel.
 3. Glue on a button.
 4. Then glue the clear cap open end up.
 5. Secure your bulb inside eyelet and glue inside the clear cap.
I used a Christmas tree light bulb because I like to see the
bulb wires inside but other good substitutes could be a piece of plastic
   straw or light brite peg.
 6. Top off with the other part of the liquid soap top. Notice that I painted
mine black on top and silver on the bottom half but it would still look
great all one color. I didn't even glue this on the clear cap because it
sits so nicely. I would use glue sparingly though to keep it clean.
Another option is to add a bead on top to give it a complete look.

CDHM the miniature way imag, found objects to make a lamp post for dollhouse miniatures Searching through the forums some time ago, I read a great idea from Ann in MN. She makes salad greens out of plastic snow by hand dipping each piece in green Great Glass paint. Puts it on a paper towel to drain and turns it a few times until dry. Then she repeats the process with petal porcelain (looks pink but dries clear). What an awesome found object idea! I tried using regular green acrylic paint but they just looked too dull and dried out for an appetizing salad. I figured autumn leaves are dull and dry so why not try it with fall colors? I made batches of separate colors and mixed them after they were dry. They seemed to work great scattered around the corners of the porch as if they were blown there by the wind. I think you could even use them with leaves that are more detailed to add bulk.

Can you think of anything else that plastic snow could be used for? Share your ideas in the CDHM forums!
