Ok, so it's September now, the last of summer, and temperatures will soon be falling again as winter approaches. As I sit here in the cold North East of England with a hailstone shower battering the window panes and a north easterly wind cold enough to freeze you to the spot whistling down the chimney, it's pretty difficult to remember being outside in the garden soaking up the lovely hot summer sun's rays!
It is, of course, still summer as I'm writing this... deadlines have to be met... and, although not the height of summer, it should be much warmer than it is right now! Time for my imagination to kick into overdrive and picture foods to be enjoyed on the long, hot summer days and in the balmy evenings that seem to have deserted us! Not an easy task when all I really want right now is a hot and hearty winter stew!
