Step 13

Now take the wooden stick, measure 1¼" (3,5cm) and cut it. Apply glue onto half of the stick. Take the string and wind it around the glued area. When you have reached the end of the glued area, glue the second end of the stick, and continue. Be careful and slow so that no wood is showing through when you are finished.

Step 14

Take the completely covered wooden stick and glue it on the top of the barrel, right in the middle.

Now you have your own little cat scratching post.

You can embellish it with a little ball or a little cat nip pillow if you like. Whatever idea you can come up with.
