On Sunday, May 8, 2011, we in the United States will celebrate Mother's Day. It is a day of thanking our moms for all they have done for us our whole lives and will continue to do every day. The United States always celebrates the holiday on the second Sunday of May. We share that day with many other countries including Australia, Germany, Greece, Italy, South Africa and Japan.
But, did you know that many other countries celebrate their Mother's Day on the last Sunday in May?
Haiti, Morocco and Sweden are just a few of them. France also chooses this date unless that Sunday coincides with Pentecost Day. Then mothers are Half scale Cinderella dolls in a trunk by CDHM Artisan Debbie Dixon-Paver celebrated on the first Sunday in June.
