Happy April fellow CDHMrs! I love snow and I am not a hot weather fan, but this winter took its toll. I have never been so grateful to see warm weather in my life. Brisk and invigorating gave way long ago to 'where's the hot coffee and furry moccasins?'
Now, the floppy sun hat is secured to my hair against the spring gales (it IS National Straw Hat Month, after all!) and my bare toes are wiggling in the sawdust and wood shavings since my fingers are actually warm enough once more to hold the Dremel©, knives and files for carving. And I can actually get outside to cut wood again for various schemes and projects. Not to mention I've even finished a few!
The dollhouse is STILL on the kitchen table, but that's OK, it's going to be done someday.
Does anyone else out there have ongoing rainy day projects? I can't be the only one, I know better!
The down side of warmer weather is that I've got to cut back on indoor projects to get outside and prep garden beds, get things planted and gear up for the coming harvest and canning madness. And then there's spring cleaning. And even the thought of the dreaded spring cleaning is still not enough this year to make me wish to have winter back.
Never thought I'd see the day when I said I was tired of snow but it really has finally arrived.
Does anyone know that in addition to being National Straw Hat Month it is Frog Month, Grilled Cheese Month (oh, heaven - a month to celebrate cheese!) and International Guitar Month? And there is actually a week dedicated to cleaning - April 18-24 is Cleaning For a Reason Week.
But April 7 is officially No Housework Day (yeehaw!) while April 5 is Go For Broke Day - I see potential in both these days personally, and to be given official license is just a gift! I'm less clear on April 17 - Blah! Blah! Blah! Day? - but Talk Like Shakespeare Day on April 23 is another day loaded with fun value - kind of like Talk Like a Pirate Day in September.
And yes, these are actual designations and not by me - I couldn't make this stuff up but I really get a giggle out of some of them! And I did celebrate on January 10 (Peculiar People Day).
Take a walk on your own wild side and let us know where your imagination leads you!
