CDHM Artisan Leslie Wiedenroth creating spooky witch and wizard dollhouse miniatures

The hardest thing about her artistry is also what keeps her involved.

"I love the challenge of creating. It can be challenging to figure out how to make a real item like a pendulum (typically only about an inch long in full scale), and trying to figure out how to make it to scale. I typically make my items in 1/12 scale, though occasionally half scale. I have just started making my items in 1/6 scale. Barbie was a favorite toy of mine as a child and I used to make their clothes and accessories so it only seemed right to try this scale. Admittedly, I am enjoying having Barbie dolls again!"

Barbie wasn't her only experience with smaller scales. Leslie's first dollhouse was a Fisher Price house full of virtually indestructible plastic furniture as well as a few very destructible antique pieces and her own creations.
