cdhm The Miniature Way March 2011 Dollhouse Tourism

CDHM dollhouse tourism feature of dollhouse miniatures in Ireland, CDHM The Miniature Way, March 2011 With just a wee bit of faith, and a whole lot of luck, let's take a slide down the rainbow to the bonny hills of Eire. At 27,136 square miles, Ireland is only slightly larger than West Virginia in the United States. It is also similar topographically, something early immigrants were delighted to discover in their struggles to find a new place to call home during the first mass emigration in 1846 at the height of the Great Potato Famine.

But as miniaturists will happily tell you, smaller is often better, and from this small country has sprung greatness in many forms: glass, marble, food, beer and literature.

Perhaps from the oral and written literary branch comes Ireland's arguably greatest gift to the world: faeries.
