First we will need to stop at the hardware store and browse the plumbing aisle. We are going to pick up a copper end cap depending on the size of scale you are working in. Do not worry if they are not perfectly flat on the bottom. This is easy to fix when you get it home. Lay the open end down on a hard surface like concrete and tap the closed end with a hammer. You may want to put some kind of padding around your cap to prevent marring and scratching before you hammer.
Then let's swing by the bait and tackle shop to look for handles for our pot. They have perfect ones there, trust me! Over in the lure-making area they should carry a bag of parts called "clevises". They are available in brass or nickel and come in a variety of sizes as well. You can kind of eyeball a compatible handle depending on the size of pot you are using.
Bend the ends to sit flush on the sides of your pot and glue. And, think of all the miniature possibilities these little things could enhance: cabinets, doors, buckets, luggage, tools and much more!
