Happy New Year to all of my fellow miniature lovers! A brand new year is a great time to reflect on the year past as well as shedding some light on some new ideas for your miniature world.
Perhaps you are already a small scale enthusiast and wondered if lighting your house or scene was even a possiblity. Everything is possible in the miniature world!
CDHM Artisan Lauretta Carroll generously shared her knowledge of lighting a 1/48 (quarter scale) house. She tells us that the easiest way to do this is to use LED's (Light Emitting Diodes).
LED's have been used for years by the miniature railroad community and are quickly finding a place in dollhouse miniatures. The sizes for smaller scales that seem to work best are 3mm, 5mm and 1.8mm. The 3mm and 5mm are best used for 1/48 and even some 1/2 scale. The 1.8mm are perfect for 1/144 scale.
