Happy birthday "The Miniature Way"! As we turn one year old, let's all have some cake to celebrate. But don't throw out that birthday candle holder! CDHM Writer, Lu Garcia aka llamalu, finds every day found objects to create dollhouse miniatures

Maybe you have some of these hiding in your kitchen cupboard in different shapes and sizes. Flower ones were the most popular when I was growing up but now there are all kinds of shapes and colors. Believe it or not, these plastic little holders are versatile for miniatures.

How about making a gazing ball for your miniature garden? Also known as a garden ball or globe of happiness, they originated in Venice, Italy, in the 13th century. They were thought to fend off evil spirits, bad luck and bring prosperity to its owners.
