Being a successful stay-at-home mom requires a lot of organization. Luckily, Alison Brand is one such mom. From household chores to keeping up with twin daughters and a pre-school aged son, creating time is limited for Alison. But her evenings are planned to include time for her to create the tiny half scale dollhouse miniature foods that are so difficult to find.
When her family grew from two people to five and space became an issue she started to look at the smaller scales. When she received a 24th scale dolls house for Christmas a few years back she quickly became hooked on the smaller scale. She soon discovered that one 24th scale was not as popular as one 12th scale and finding accessories and food miniatures to fill her new house was difficult. After one particularly frustrating unsuccessful trip to a fair trying to find her chosen scale she decided to pull out the polymer clay and try her hand at the tiny one 24th scale.
These days you can find Alison making 24th and 48th scale food from desserts to vegetables and stocking the realistic results in her gallery. Her next challenge? She wants to explore making food for 144th scale tables. With the realism that she has shown for 24th and 48th scale dollhouse miniatures, we have no doubt that she will attain the same perfection that she's already achieved in the larger scales.
