Ahh… the hot month of August is upon us. Only two months left until the things that go bump in the night will rule. Until then, how about we indulge in a little miniature spell casting in red, white, and blue to celebrate America!

Color is very important for the mini enchanter. Color also plays a vitally important role in the world in which we live. It can sway thinking, change actions and cause reactions. It can irritate or soothe your eyes, raise your blood pressure or even suppress your appetite!

And magical use of colors is unlimited. Those of us with magical minds must think outside the box of that one particular holiday so associated with witches and wizards. Your wee folk needn't be limited to orange and black.

We live in a colorful world filled with many shades of red. Red is the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power and determination as well as passion, desire and love. Red is a very emotionally intense color.

This color is also commonly associated with energy. That's why a lot of energy drinks, games, cars, anything related to sports and high physical activity tend to make use of that color a lot. Intense red tends to evoke a fight-or-flight response, raise blood pressure and make the heart beat faster. To add to the mini mystic scene think enchanted roses, gleaming scarlet crystal balls and magical – if not poisonous – mushrooms.
